Dr Gonzalo Carrizo has an extensive experience in advanced and complex heart and lung failure cases.
He graduated with honors from medical school at the age of 22, completed American Accredited residencies in General Surgery, Vascular-Endovascular Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery and obtained board certification.
During the years of training and working at the Texas Heart Institute, the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, private and academic institutions Dr Carrizo developed a strong interest in complex heart and lung pathologies. He acquired a vast experience in the diagnosis, surgical treatment and postoperative management of heart and respiratory failure, mechanical circulatory assist devices and cardiopulmonary transplantation.
Dr Carrizo trained and worked at prestigious medical institutions under the leadership of world renowned cardiothoracic surgeons. He also has experience in starting and running a private practice as well as leading an academic cardiothoracic surgery service. Dr Carrizo has trained and mentored medical students, nurses, residents and fellows and brings a dynamic, energetic and pleasant personality.
