Ali Ghodsizad, MD. PhD.
Dr Ali Ghodsizad is a cardiothoracic surgeon, whose clinical focus has been on heart and lung transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, adult cardiac surgery and structural heart disease. He has over 100 publications and several book chapter contributions and has presented at several national and international conferences in his 20+ years of clinical experience. He currently functions as Academic Editor for journal of Cardiac Surgery.
Dr. Ghodsizad has graduated from Medical School of Hanover. He finished his categorical fellowship at the University of Heidelberg with the Board Certification in Thoracic surgery. He was trained in Thoracic Transplantation and MCS at the Texas Heart Institute and Temple University Hospital. He has established a long-standing clinical practice beginning at the Penn state Hershey Medical Center and continuing at the University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital leading the ECMO/MCS program.
The focus of his Clinical research has been on ex-vivo BDB and DCD thoracic organ optimization, cell therapy, gene therapy and structural heart disease. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, European Board of Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery and the American College of Surgery.
