Current Chief Medical Officer, life changing medical technologies. Former director of cardiac transplantation and mechanical circulatory support, Yale university, and advent health Orlando. Former Navy flight surgeon with combat flight experience.
Dr Botta is Current chief medical officer, Life Changing Medical Technologies. Former director of cardiac transplantation and mechanical circulatory support, Yale university, and Advent Health Orlando. Former Navy flight surgeon with combat flight experience as an electronic countermeasures officer in the EA6B Prowler.
Dr Botta has years of transplant experience within the transplant world. He completed medical school at Univ. of Alabama School of Medicine, Birmingham, Alabama. And started as a general surgery resident at Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, VA. He was a Flight Surgeon Candidate at Naval Aeronautical Medical Institute. After that he served as Naval Flight Surgeon, Cherry Point, North Carolina. He finished his cardiothoracic surgery at Yale as a chief resident. Then became assistant professor and director of cardiac transplantation and mechanical support at New Haven Yale Hospital. He moved in his early career to Advent Health in Florida Orlando as the Surgical Director of Heart transplant and mechanical support. He has been Board certified by the American Board of Surgery, and American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
Dr Botta was a recipient of multiple awards and honors such as, Excellence in Teaching Award, Residency, Erlanger Health System, Chattanooga, TN. Best Research Presentation, Resident Research Day, University of Tennessee College of Medicine. Excellence in Teaching Award, Residency, Erlanger Health System, Chattanooga, TN. Excellence in Surgery Award, University of Alabama School of Medicine Huntsville, AL. and Exchange Club Youth of the Year, State of Alabama.
Dr Botta is an innovator of multiple surgical devices and active in academics, he is well published in high impact surgical journals , and has presented at several national and international conferences .He has held memberships in professional organizations and societies such as , the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation, the American Thoracic Society , the American Medical Association, American Society of Transplantation.
